Flowering stems are usually 2-3 ft. tall, each with spikes of 3 to 8 blossoms. The flowers are creamy white, with a dark brown-black throat and a very fragrant, spicy aroma. They make excellent cut flowers and bloom late-summer to fall.

Amarcrinums are hybrids between Amaryllis belladonna and Crinum species.

In 4 years or less the bulbs form very large plants (three to four feet across) that are hardy down to at least 20° F and perhaps lower. Blossoms are very fragrant, white or rose white and similar in size to those of A. belladonna. Flowering stems are usually 3’ tall bearing about 10 blossoms per stem. Both the white and rose white selections make excellent cut flowers and bloom in late summer.

They like partial shade, particularly in hot climates.

Bulbs are available year-round.

Amaryllis belladonna has several common names, some of which it shares with other plants. It may be called Naked Lady, Resurrection Lily or Magic lily.
